So sorry to hear about Rolland's passing. I had the pleasure of working with him for a few summers at the Saratoga Race Track and of course during our brakes he would be teaching us French. My sincere condolences to his family. Au revoir, Au revoir.

Monsieur Fontaine is a beloved French teacher of so many Saratoga High School graduates. He expanded our worlds in important ways, always with kindness and compassion. My foundation in French led me to Middlebury College, a junior year studying in Paris and so much more. I am grateful to have had M Fontaine as a teacher and send my sincerest condolences to his family.
Kind regards,
Heidi

I’m so sorry to hear of the passing of Monsieur Fontaine. I only had him for one year of French in high school, back in 1984-1985, but I saw him frequently, and a lot when I returned to substitute teach for many years. He was always such a kind soul. My last memory of him was unique. I ran into him while Strawberry picking several years ago; I believe it was at the Hand Melon Farm. I was able to introduce him to my young children and we had a nice chat. I’ll always remember him and his love of French that he helped instill in me, and now, that is being instilled in my daughter. My deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and former students.

Aunt Theresa please know how sorry I am for your loss, Uncle Rolland was such a kind wonderful man. He was always so good with dad when dad needed help with a bath and to spend time with him. Please know that you are in my prayers and that Uncle Rolland is rejoicing in the Lord. I love you. Tami

Dear Terry,
I feel lucky that I was both a student and a colleague of Rolland at Saratoga High. He is a part of many happy memories. My husband Jeff also enjoyed his time in Rolland's classroom. We are thinking of him, of you, and of all those to whom he was a dear and sweet gentleman.
Sincerely, Elthea Sadlon
