Obituary of Cheryl L. Walsh

Cheryl L. (Petteys) Walsh, 74, a lifelong resident of Greenwich passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born April 03, 1944 in Middle Falls, NY to the late Gordon and Marion (Humphrey) Petteys.

She graduated from Greenwich High School in 1962 and after graduation married the love of her life John Walsh.  Together they had two children Michael and Erin.  She enjoyed baking and cooking.  She loved her grandchildren and always bragged what good kids they were.  

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by two sisters Karen (Clifford) Wright and Barbara Jean Petteys.

Survivors include her loving husband of 55 years John Walsh of Greenwich; son Michael (Carla) Walsh of Greenwich; daughter Erin Walsh Moxley of Boston; grandchildren, Hannah and John Walsh of Greenwich, Grace, Gage and Tess Moxley of Boston; siblings, G. James (Karen) Petteys of Utah, Richard (Susan) Petteys of SC, Tracy (Donald) McEachron of Salem, Gina Acee of Sherburne, NY, Michele (Paul) Stewart of Greenwich, and Stephen (Bridget) Petteys of Greenwich; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A mass of a Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 am Friday, May 25, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 36 Bleeker St, Greenwich, NY, 12834 with the Rev. Martin Fisher officiating

Burial will take place in the St. Joseph’s Cemetery following the mass

Family and friends may call from 4-7pm on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 80 Main St, Greenwich, NY, 12834.
