Obituary of Ida Zdobnikow

Ida Zdobnikow, 90, a resident of Route 29, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Saratoga Hospital. Born September 22, 1919 in Bisbaltchewo, Ukrane, she was the daughter of the late Valentin and Rosalia Funk Dejkun. Mrs. Zdobnikow moved to the United States in 1949 and lived in New York City for seven years before moving to the Schuylerville area. She had worked as a Nurses Aide at Saratoga Hospital for many years, and was a member of St. Basil’s Russian Orthodox Church in Watervliet. Ida enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading, cooking and gardening. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Nick; 1 son, Victor; and 1 daughter, Tina. Survivors include 1 daughter, Nina (Keith) Ricciardone of Malta; 1 son, Nicholas (Denise) Zdobnikow of Schuylerville; 9 grandchildren, Lenny Squires, Laura Scott, Linda Wills, Toni Modak, Kim Dalke, Michael Zdobnikow, Jason Ricciardone, Ashley and Sarah Zdobnikow; and 14 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 10am Monday, March 29, 2010 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville with Father Peter Olson, officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Argyle on Thursday. Friends my call on Monday after the service until 12noon at the funeral home.
