Obituary of James Perry
James E. Perry Sr., 75 a lifelong resident of Greenwich, passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness Friday, July 27, 2018 at Saratoga Hospital in the care of his beloved family.
He was born November 26, 1942 in Greenwich, NY to the late Thomas and Amanda Straight Perry.
James loved his family; his greatest joy was spending time with them. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and going to the tractor pulls at the county fair every summer. He enjoyed anything outdoors and was a collector of antiques. James was proud of his time served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1960-1964. He worked at Sherwood Medical in Argyle for many years.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his son James Perry Jr; 3 sisters Shirley Norton, Elizabeth Perry and Delores Manney; mother and father-in-law Evelyn and Albert Weils.
He is survived by his loving wife Susan Perry of Greenwich; children Gina Perry, Anthony Perry and Jason (Rachelle) Perry all of Greenwich; grandchildren Kayla (Jonathan) of Benson, NC, Jason (Kristene) of Angier, NC, Samantha and Hunter of Athens, Misty and Edward Mahay of Saratoga Springs, James, Jordynn, and Anthony of Greenwich; great grandchildren Braeden, Adrianah, Miya, Ava, and Dakoda; brother Thomas Perry of Saratoga Springs; many nieces, nephews and sister and brothers-in-law’s.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at 1:30pm Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 80 Main St, Greenwich, NY, 12834 with the Rev. Virginia Cornell officiating.
Interment with full military honors will be held at 2:30 pm in The Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY, 12871 following the service.
Family and friends may call from 11:00 to 1:00pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
