Obituary of Carla Linnett

It is with sadness that we announce the death of Carla J. Linnett of Abeel Avenue in Greenwich.  She passed on Friday, August 10, 2018 following an extended illness with ALS.

She was born March 18, 1946 in Cambridge, NY; the daughter of the late E. Carlton and A. Marjorie (Snell) Tuttle.

Carla graduated from Cambridge Central School and continued her education studying Business and Accounting at Adirondack Community College.  She was employed for many years at Mary McClellan Hospital in Cambridge and most recently at C.B. Enterprises in Saratoga.

Central to her life was a deep abiding faith in God which she shared lovingly providing encouragement to others.  She was a member of the Zion Episcopal Church in Hudson Falls, Carla belonged to the Daughters of the King, was active in Zion’s Closet Thrift Shop, served as Treasurer of the parish and during worship as Chalicist and Reader.  Until 2007, Carla was an active member of the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Greenwich where she served the parish as Treasurer, there she was also a member of the Women’s Guild and Chalicist.

With her late husband James (Butch) Linnett, Carla was the proud mother to surviving sons Brant J. Linnett (his partner Amanda) and Brandon J. Linnett (Valerie.  The great joys of Carla’s life included watching her sons reach their goals as good men and the birth of her three granddaughters Samantha, Mariah and Morgan Linnett.

Additional survivors include her faithful companion William (Bill) Cassidy of Shushan; siblings Cindy (John) Randall of Queensbury and B. Scott Tuttle of Indiana; several nieces and nephews; also surviving are countless friends, all recipients of Carla’s generosity and who were witnesses to her kindly spirit.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Sharon (Sherry) and brother-in-law William Burns, and sister-in-law Maita Dixon.

Special gratitude is extended to Colleen Quinn, MD and the staff at St. Peter’s ALS Clinic for their compassionate care.

A celebration of Carla’s life will be held at 11am Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at the Zion Episcopal Church, 224 Main St, Hudson Falls, NY, 12839 with Rev. Richard Lehmann officiating.

Friends may visit with the family prior to the worship service, beginning at 10am at the church.

A reception for family and friends will follow the service in the church parish hall.

Interment in the family plot in the Greenwich Cemetery will take place at the convenience of the family.
