Obituary of Stanley H. Burger
Stanley H. Burger, 77, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Saratoga Hospital after a hard-fought battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family.
Stan was born August, 27, 1941 in NYC to the late Harold and Sadie Weinstein Burger.
Stanley Burger was a jack of all trades, builder of many things, fur trader, rattle snake hunter, member of the Greenwich Elks Club but he was most proud of his service in the United States Navy. He loved antique collecting especially antique firearms and anything Native American heritage related, he loved a good bargain. Stanley loved traveling west with his significant other Carol Polito and wintering with her in Florida, since his retirement from Saratoga B.O.C.E.S. He competed in target shooting, was an avid golfer and tennis player, enjoyed nature photography, but most of all he was a loving partner, father, grandfather and brother.
He is survived by his loving partner of 15 years Carol Polito; children Denise Burger of South Hadley, MA, Jeffrey Burger of Salem, MA, John (Lisa) Burger of Queensbury and Jessica Burger of NC; 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 5 siblings Doug, Audrey, Loraine, Cheryl and Irene.
A celebration of Stanley’s life will be held at 6 pm Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at the Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave, Schuylerville, NY, 12871 with Celebrant Jason M. Easton officiating.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 6 prior to the service at the funeral home
Interment with full military honors will be held at 12:30 pm on Friday September, 28, 2018 at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY, 12871.
