Obituary of Alberta J. Mathis

Alberta J. Mathis, 90, a former resident of Pearl St., passed away Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Fort Hudson Nursing Center in Fort Edward.

Born November 28, 1927 in Ballston Spa, NY she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Helen Burge DeLoriea.

Mrs. Mathis had worked as a waitress at Fusco’s Restaurant in Saratoga Springs for many years.  She was a member of Schuylerville United Methodist Church where she had been very active.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Leon R. Mathis Jr. in 2009; as well as her nine siblings, Donny, Jerry, MaryLou, Joey, Eddie, Dorothy, Kenny, Harold and Betty.

Survivors include her stepson, David (Deborah) Mathis of Schuylerville; stepdaughters, Cynthia (Darwin) DeLappa of Lake George and Nancy (Akis)Bonsour of Paonia, CO; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 12 noon Monday, October 29, 2018 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville, NY with Rev. John Iseman, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.

Friends may call on Monday morning from 11am -12pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
