Obituary of Grace I. Tracy

Grace I. Tracy, 96, a lifelong resident of Greenwich passed away peacefully December 7, 2018 at Home of The Good Shepard in Saratoga Springs, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born December 2, 1922 in Greenwich, NY to the late Merriman Rose and Hattie Durkee.

Grace was a lifelong member of the Greenwich Centenary United Methodist Church in Greenwich.  She was always supportive and instrumental in the success of her husband’s business Greenwich Ready Mix, as well as being a homemaker and great mother to her five children.

Grace enjoyed cooking and baking for the employees, friends and their families her delicious apple pies and donuts were especially enjoyed by all.  She was an avid reader and spent many hours enjoying a good book. 

Grace’s favorite phrase was “Love you more” and she always said goodbye with it.

She will be deeply missed by all.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband of 69 years Kenneth Tracy Sr; her sister Elizabeth Badger and daughter-in-law Audrey Tracy.

She is survived by her loving children Katherine (Frank) Burkhead of Lincoln Hills, CA, and their children Daniel and Julie Burkhead from San Jose, CA and Paul Burkhead from Lincoln Hills, CA, Kenneth (Carol) Tracy Jr. of Greenwich, NY and Ken’s children Cheryl Tracy of Saratoga Springs, NY, Joanne (Michel) Giancaspro of Hoboken, NJ, and Colleen (Jeremiah) Wood of Saratoga Springs, NY, Charles (Katherine) Tracy and their children Michael Tracy of Rotterdam, NY and Jennifer Tracy of West Palm Beach, FL, Diane Tracy of Melbourne, FL, Scott (Lori) Tracy of Greenwich, NY and their children Shannon Heuser of Hudson Falls, and Chelsea Tracy of Greenwich, NY; 9 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 10am Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 80 Main St, Greenwich, NY, 12834.  Interment next to her husband will be held immediately following the service, at 11:30am in the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY, 12871.

Family and friends may call from 4-6 on Monday, December 10, 2018 at the funeral home.
