Obituary of Patrick Burgess

Patrick J. (Paddy) Burgess, 40, a child at heart and resident of Greenwich passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Saratoga Springs, NY on March 30, 1979 to John J. and Sharron Burgess.

Patrick was a friend to anyone he encountered and would literally give others the shirt off his back.  He was a 1997 graduate of Greenwich Central School and was an active member of the Norsland Viking Reenactment Community, the group treated each other like family, and he was blessed to be a part of it.  Patrick was an avid D&D player and loved to play chess and laser tag with his daughter Ally.  She was the center of his life and everything he did he did for her.

His favorite job was bartending at Jody’s Tavern and the Glen Sanders Mansion.  He loved Halloween,  It really captured his child like mentality.  He will be remembered by his favorite sayings “Erin-go-Bragh” and “Who’s your Paddy”.

He was predeceased by his father John J. Burgess; grandparents John and Phyllis Shannon and Jeanie and John Burgess.

He is survived by his mother Sharron Burgess of Greenwich; daughter Allyson Burgess of Hudson Falls; siblings Nick (Brenda) Marci, John (Michelle) Marci, Shari (Randy) Marci, and Colleen (Roger) Burgess; 4 nieces Alexandria, Mackenzie, Lauren, Elizabeth Marci; 3 nephews Cole Burgess, Tyler Day and Nicholas Marci; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A funeral mass will be held at 11am Friday, May 10, 2019 at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Hill St, Greenwich, NY, 12834 with the Rev. Martin Fisher officiating. A reception will immediately follow the service at the fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers donations in his name may be made to a trust fund account set up in his daughter Allyson Burgess’s name at any Glens Falls National Bank location.
