Obituary of Richard John Walter

Richard John Walter, 93, a resident of Washington Center passed away unexpectedly Monday, January 25, 2021 as a result of COVID-19. He was born September 15, 1927 in Maspeth, NY to the late Henry and Marie (Miskovsky) Walter. Richard served his country proudly in the United States Army. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching his favorite teams the Yankees and Islanders. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wives, Ruth and Josephine, brother Harry Walter. He is survived by his daughter Judiann Mary (John) Amodio; stepson James Brower; stepdaughter Barbara Walter; 5 grandchildren John Jr., Richard, Christopher, Andrew Amodio, and Susan Davis; 4 great grandchildren Parker and Ryland Amodio, Trey and Beckett Davis. Family and friends may call from 10 – 12:00pm on Friday, January 29, 2021 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 80 Main St, Greenwich, NY, 12834. Due to COVID-19 restrictions masks and social distancing will be required inside the funeral home at all times.
