O the many random adventures we shared in our Youth!
School-night excursions to discover new bands; weekends at the cabin, singing songs in the forest and seeing ghosts on the road; automatic writing word-processors at midnight; channeling gods, pranking tourists downtown; bewildered together the night 9/11, cursing mass media and pondering how odd this existence.
Josh was a terrific spark of cathartic inspiration, always up to something creatively fun and different. And though our paths diverged to distant parts of the world in recent years, he was always like a brother to me, and I looked forward always to the occasions we were able to again meet – each time both of us a bit older, a bit wiser and greyer, but somehow the same, as if mere days had passed. He was the Bad Bear, a natural leader and the original Denmark Boy, and shall not be forgotten.
Godspeed, O Ye strange Wizard of Denmark!
Until we meet again, beyond the Void, and beyond the Beyond.

I am so sorry for your loss. Josh was a good friend of my son, Alain Jourdenais. He was the master of ceremonies during Alain's memorial service at CalArts in 2007. My thoughts are with you as you grieve for Josh.

Dear Betty, Joe, Mike, and Family,
We are so very sorry for your loss. Our family has very fond memories of Josh from the music and theatre days at Greenwich High School and from Skidmore College. Josh brought so much to these events and was a friend to all three Carter kids to this day. Our sons John and Josh and daughter Heather each have been touched by their friendship with Josh. Our prayers go with you for God's comfort to lift you up during this sad time. May his memory forever be a blessing to you.
Fondly, John and Betty Carter

To the Chambers Family,
We are very sorry for your loss. I remember when my son Colby graduated from Pooh's Corner in 1997 and Josh wrote a song and sang it for all the children. My husband and I thought that it was such a kind gesture that Josh would oblige and do that for our children. It is something that we will never forget and we mourn with you. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers.
