Obituary of Marilyn A. Almy

Marilyn A. Almy, 68, lifelong resident of Greenwich, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at her residence. She was born February 6, 1953 in Cambridge, NY to the late Donald and Gertrude (Barber) McGrouty. Marilyn graduated from Greenwich High School in 1972. Marilyn enjoyed reading, cleaning, cooking, and eating. She worked for Kmart in Greenwich for many years in the jewelry department. She had a special bond with her sister they both enjoyed each other’s companionship. Her two children Kimberlee and Joshua Almy were her pride and joy, they both meant the world to her. Survivors include her children Kimberlee and Joshua Almy; husband Richard Almy of Greenwich; sister Coleen Kyer of Greenwich; nephews Matthew Kyer of Glens Falls, Craig Kyer of Johnsonville; special friends Carlos Acevedo and Tara Thompson; several cousins. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Donations in Marilyn’s name may be made to the Easton-Greenwich Rescue Squad.
