Hard to put in a few words the width and the breath of this kind and gentle soul. I am first cousin to Gary. He was solid, strong, and a caring person to all that crossed his path. He was a man of integrity and honor, who served his country without regret. He loved life, his children, and to talk about when we were kids. He was at home in nature, sitting next to a river with his hunting buddies, who were all family. He has taken his last train ride, first class, to a place of pure joy and no pain. I will miss you Cuz!

My most sincere condolences to Chip and Valerie. Gary was a good person and I'm very blessed to have known him since we were both children (2nd cousins) playing in Aunt Mary's yard, collecting acorns, and walking to the movies in Huntington Station. He provided some great memories while at deer camp in Tupper Lake. We shared similar political beliefs on numerous occasions over the internet. I’m sure Gary will be missed by all who knew him.

So sorry for your family's loss Chip. Though I never met your Dad, I know from talking with you how much he ment to your family and inspirational in your life. Know that indeed that his pain is gone and if there's a train in heaven, he's already on board.

Though I knew him only a short while (2002) he truly made an impression. He was a kind, upstanding man that loved his family very much. He was a patient, helpful, strong and peaceful fella. I am happy to have known him as he will be missed. God Bless you Gary and thank you for your service and accepting me into the extended Ordway clan.
