Obituary of Tim A. Borden

Tim A. Borden, 66, a lifelong resident of Easton, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 14, 2021, at Saratoga Hospital following a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was born August 31, 1955, in Troy, NY to the late Leonard and Phyllis (Horton) Borden. Tim spent his entire life on the farm, working for the family Apple Orchard O A Borden. He attended HVCC and became a mechanic. Tim could fix anything; he was truly a master mechanic. He was proud of the 1928 International Truck he restored that can be found outside the orchard. Often you could find him in the shop working on something big. He was a lifetime member of the Easton Volunteer Fire Department, where he served as Captain. Tim served as the assistant superintendent for the Easton Rural Cemetery, he was always there to help with projects and perpetual care. In his free time, he enjoyed square dancing, travelling to Hawaii and camping. He met the love of his life Sandy Garrick while being a patient at Mary McClellan Hospital after he broke his hand, she may have been his nurse and ate his ice cream, but he stole her heart. Tim was a hard worker his entire life, whenever he could lend a hand to someone in need, he would. He was a downright kind person, who will be missed by all who knew him. The family would like to thank the Easton-Greenwich Rescue Squad for all their help assisting Tim, and the Saratoga Community Hospice and C-3 Saratoga Hospital Staff. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years Sandy Borden of Easton; brothers Thomas (Joanne) Borden and Gary (Cindy) Borden of Easton; beloved black lab Jenny; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held at 7 pm on Friday, October 22, 2021, at the Easton Volunteer Fire Co. Route 40, Easton.
