Obituary of Mary Irene Starteri

Mary Irene Starteri, 62, a resident of Greenwich, went home to be with her heavenly father Sunday, January 16, 2022 at Ellis Hospital, after fighting a long illness. She was born in Troy, NY on May 18, 1959, to Allen and Dola (Hamilton) Sinsabaugh. Mary was strong in her faith and devotion to her lord and savior Jesus Christ. She was a member of the Jacobs Well Fellowship in Cambridge. She served her country proudly in the United States Army. She met the love of her life, John Starteri, while attending church, and together they were happily married for 42 years. Mary enjoyed bowling, crocheting, knitting, playing bingo, and watching gladiators, wrestling, and Days Of Our Lives on T.V. Mary and her husband often enjoyed taking long rides while listening to Christian music and were always regulars at Sunday morning church service. Her most important achievement was raising her children and grandchildren, and she will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her grandsons, Elijah and Issac Starteri; and brother Ronnie Sinsabaugh. She is survived by her husband, John Starteri; children, Christina Starteri and Christopher (Amy) Starteri; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Loleta Johnson, Glenda Canavan, and Elsa Perkins. A funeral service will be held at 12pm on Friday, January 21, 2022 at Jacobs Well Fellowship, 29 W Main St, Cambridge, NY 12816, with Pastor Tim Bohley officiating. Burial will follow at 2pm in the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY, 12871. Family and friends may call from 11 to 12pm prior to the service at the church.
