Obituary of Margaret "Peggy" Allen

Margaret “Peggy” Allen, 93, a resident of Fort Hudson Nursing Center, passed away Friday, May 6, 2022 surrounded by her family. Born June 4, 1928 in Lake Placid, NY she was the daughter of the late William and Mary Sullivan LaGoy. Peggy lived for over 60 years in Circleville, NY. She was a retired Physical Education Teacher, was a member and very involved with the Bullville United Methodist Church and was a member of the Circleville Fire Company Auxiliary. She was a member of the Circleville Rangers 4H Club, was active in the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, the Wallkill Seniors, and was a well-known seamstress. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert F. Allen in 2003; her infant sister, Joan LaGoy, sister, Philippa M. Fisher, and brother, William P. Lagoy. Survivors include her children, Bradley Allen of Schuylerville, NY, Bonnie (Tom) Taddeo of Warrensburg, Gregory (Suzanne) Allen of Chapel Hill, NC, Harry Allen of Bloomingburg, NY and Keith (Tracie) Allen of Elma, NY; 7 grandchildren, Erin, Christopher, Jessie, Zachary, Kate, Eugene and Alexander; 3 great grandchildren, Kahleb, Ziggy, and Remi; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 am Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at the Schuylerville United Methodist Church, 51 Church St., Schuylerville, NY with Rev. Virginia Cornell, officiating. Burial will be at 10:30am on Wednesday in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, in Schuylerville, PRIOR to the service at the church. Memorials can be made in her memory to Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 or Fort Hudson Nursing Center, 319 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12828.
