Obituary of Thomas R. Scaglione

Thomas Scaglione, 82, a resident of Washington Center passed away, peacefully on Thursday, June 9, 2022. He was born in Greenwich, NY, on April 29, 1940, to the late Samuel and Dorothy (Wilson) Scaglione. Tom lived most of his life with his mom on Van Ness Ave. He had a beaten path to Stewart’s to enjoy coffee daily with his friends. Tom was loved by all who knew him, always bringing a smile to everyone he met. In his younger years Tom worked at the White Feather Chicken Farm in Middle Falls. He was a member of the Greenwich Elks Lodge #2223. Tom enjoyed spending time with all his friends; ball games, parties, road trips to a bar or two, the list of good times and stories are endless. Tom was a big supporter of the GAA Little League where he was a legendary umpire for 20 years. He was known for his animated umpiring style, and spot on calls, “2-2 Fella”! Most recently, Tom resided for several years at Washington Center, where of course everybody loved him. He was nicknamed the “Mayor”. He was a good guy and will surely be missed. The family would like to thank all the people who loved Tom and help take care of his needs. He is survived by numerous cousins and friends. Graveside services for Tom will be held at 10 AM on Friday, June 17, 2022, in the Greenwich Cemetery with the Rev. Sandra Spaulding officiating. Donations in his name may be made Greenwich Fire Department or Easton Greenwich Rescue squad. Online condolences and messages to the family may be made at www.flynnbrosinc.com
