Obituary of Eric Clark Dalzell
Eric Clark Dalzell, 38, of Saratoga Springs, NY passed into the arms of the Lord on June 29, 2022.
Born in Saratoga Springs on January 12, 1984, he was the son of Clark and Sandy Dalzell of Saratoga Springs.
Eric graduated from Schuylerville High School in June 2002. He then went on to earn an Associate’s Degree in Electrical Construction at Hudson Valley Community College in 2005. He worked at Saratoga National Historical Park as an Auto Mechanic and Certified Arborist for many years. He received many honors and recognition for his wildland firefighting duties in many states. Eric was quick to offer his knowledge, help and assistance to anyone and everyone in need, be it family, friends, initial strangers or fellow firefighters.
There are many firefighting stories attached to Eric’s adventures. One in particular (Florida Fire) which is backed up by a photo taken by a crew member. It shows Eric diligently working on a pump’s rewind that his crew desperately needed. Parts are laid out along the shore - his back to the water. Looming in the background is a large alligator watching his progress - looking for a snack? (Yes, he got the pump up and running!) We all loved this picture.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Alaina Dalzell of Schuylerville, NY; his grandfather, Edward Charbonneau of Saratoga Springs, NY; and his brother, Peter Dalzell.
Friends may call on Wednesday, July 6, 2002 from 4-7pm at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville, NY 12871.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10am Thursday, July 7, 2022 at Notre Dame-Visitation Church, 18 Pearl St., Schuylerville, NY. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery in Schuylerville.
