Obituary of Sandra Colby

Sandra Colby, 81, of Greenwich, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at Elderwood Nursing Home in Ticonderoga with her husband by her side.

She was born in Barre Vermont, on May 21, 1941, to the late Harry and Hilda Smith.

Sandra was always the life of the party anywhere she went.  She was well known in the community and had many friends.  She was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan, loved fashion-oriented clothes and jewels and she always made sure to dress well.  Sandra worked as a beautician for over 40 years, most recently for De De’s salon in Greenwich.  She also drove school bus for the Greenwich Central School.

For the past 51 years she was married to the love of her life Frank Colby, together they laughed, loved to travel on various cruises and ride motorcycles together.  She will be missed by all who knew her. 

She is survived by her husband Frank Colby of Greenwich; sons, Rodney, and Russell Dwyer of Florida; brother-in-law Bruce (Gilles) Colby as well as countless amounts of friends.

A memorial service will be held at 7 pm on Friday, December 9, 2022, at Flynn Bros Inc. Funeral Home, 80 Main St, Greenwich, NY, 12834. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
