Cousin Eddie, Ed, Sally, whatever you called him, we’re all so much better for having him in our lives. Living 1500 miles away, I didn’t get to spend as much time with Ed as I wanted, but when we got together, there were always lots of laughs, stories, and memories made. A favorite memory of mine was from sometime around 1989 or so when I went to visit Ed and Kim. While Ed was at work, I took his snowmobile out for a joy ride down the Hudson to Uncle Bill’s house. I got too far from the shore and found the thin ice. The snowmobile started to go through the ice, but not before Aunt Jan, and I was able to tie a rope to it. We had to call Ed at work and give him the news. He came home, and we began working on getting the snowmobile to the shore. In the process, it went completely under the ice. We were able to get it out and back on the ice. Well, here’s where the story gets good. We both realized this would be a great story to tell one day and what better way to tell it than with a picture? But a picture wouldn’t tell the full story if the snowmobile wasn’t back in the river. So, we pushed it partially back in and posed next to it. Most people might think we were crazy for pushing it back in, but their story wouldn’t be as cool as ours! Ed was one of the most selfless guys I knew. He would absolutely give you the shirt off his back if needed and wouldn’t think twice. Every time I visited Kim and Ed, they treated me like a king and showed me the best time ever. I could write forever about all of our good times, but I will wrap this up by saying thank you, Ed. Thank you for all of the special memories and a lifetime of stories. Till we meet again cuz, rest easy. I love you. Gary
