Obituary of Shannon L. Norton

Shannon L. Norton passed away tragically, a victim of domestic violence, at her home in Austin, TX on April 23, 2023.

Shannon was born and raised in Schuylerville, NY and was a graduate of the University of Albany. In May of 2005, her adventurous spirit took her to Austin, where she had resided ever since.

An avid traveler, Shannon backpacked New Zealand, worked summers in Alaska, and traveled extensively throughout the world.

Shannon was passionate about music and could sing every word of every song! She loved her rescue pups, Shug and Dunder. She enjoyed cooking and making meals from scratch.  Shannon enjoyed playing trivia, board games, and cards with family and friends.

Shannon is survived by her mother, Debbie Martis (John); her father, Jack Norton (Lori); sisters, Tara Hayford and Jeannie Duval; and her brother Jackson Norton.  She leaves behind nephews, Tyan Hayford, Hunter Duval and Trey Duval.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 6 PM on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville, NY.

Visitation will be held from 4-6pm prior to the service.
