Obituary of Helen Tice Coffin

Helen Tice (Brownell) Coffin, 80, of 2929 County Rt. 113, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 with her loved ones by her side. Born April 30, 1929 near the current site of the Washington County Fair, she was a lifetime resident of Easton. Helen was a 1946 graduate of Schuylerville Central School and for 23 years worked for the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance in Audits and Exceptions. Her interests included travel, the casino’s, visiting with close friends and the company of her caregivers. Helen was predeceased by her father, Harold Leon Brownell, her mother Maude Vernon (Jerome) Brownell, her older brother, Lt. Colonel Henry Joseph Brownell, her younger brother, Joseph Harvey Brownell, and her beloved husband of 48 years, United States Army Air Corps Corporal Frank Mead Coffin (1920-1996). Survivors include her younger brother, Kenneth Harvey Brownell, S.F.O., a Franciscan Brother living in Wayne, NJ; her younger sister, Ruth Lee Fuller of Troy, NY; and her son and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Coffin of Saratoga Springs. Helen would like to express her love and gratitude to her caregivers, Tina Bapp, Sonja Marruso Anderson, and Teesha Bapp. A graveside service will be conducted at 10am Monday, May 3, 2010 in the Greenwich Cemetery, Greenwich, NY with Jean Malone of Washington County Hospice officiating. There will be no public calling hours. The family suggests memorials in her name be made to Washington County Hospice.
