Obituary of Nancy L. Meek

Nancy L. Meek, 71, of Greenwich, died peacefully Sunday May 2, 2010 at Glens Falls Hospital, after an extensive and courageous battle with breast cancer. She was the only child of the late Frances [Henderson] and Malcolm Hall. A graduate of Cambridge High School and Albany Business College, Nancy worked for a law firm in Albany prior to her marriage to Dr. John C. Meek. Nancy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Nancy is survived by her husband of 50 years, Dr. John Meek; four daughters, Vicki, Tami, Heidi and Cindi (Robert) Barnes; four grandchildren, John, Olivia and Robert Barnes and Sarah Meek- Burola, and extended family. A memorial service will be held at 6pm Thursday, May 6, 2010 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 80 Main St., Greenwich. Friends may call from 4-6pm prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home. A reception for friends and family will be held at the Greenwich VFW on Abeel Avenue, following the service. Interment will be in Woodlands Cemetery in Cambridge, NY on Friday, May 7, 2010 at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Greenwich Relay for Life, the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association or The Pruyn Center at Glens Falls Hospital. The family wishes to thank Dr. Hoffman and his staff, especially Roberta Brown, at Adirondack Cancer Care, Radiologist, Dr. Hellman and the Oncology Staff at Glens Falls Hospital for their excellent care.
