Obituary of Bella L. Griffen

Bella L. Griffen, 83, passed away at her home on South Union St., on Tuesday, May 25, 2010. Born November 10, 1926 in Middle Falls, she was the daughter of Allie and Rose (Dornan) Hoffman. Bella was a graduate of Greenwich Central School and for many years was employed at the Golden Fleece Mill in Greenwich and the Mielkelnox Home in Cambridge. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Cambridge. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, William Griffen who died in 2002. Survivors include 2 sons, John E. (Laura) Porter of Cambridge and Jerry E. Porter of North Clarendon, VT;1 sister, Rose Patenaude of Ballston Spa; 2 grandchildren, Alicia Marie Tilton of Eden, VT and Merritt Edward Porter of Burlington, VT; 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in the Greenwich Cemetery, Greenwich, NY. There will be no calling hours. Memorials can be made to the Cambridge Valley Rescue Squad.
