Obituary of Irene M. Henley

Irene M. Henley, 84, a resident of Academy St., Greenwich, died peacefully on Thursday, June 17, 2010 surrounded by her loving family at Saratoga Hospital. Born January 28, 1926 in Whitehall, NY she was the daughter of the late Howard and Elizabeth (Gardner) Martin. Irene was a member of the Greenwich VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling, traveling, camping, crafts, and most of all her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her pets. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Richard Henley. Survivors include her children, Richard (Deborah) Henley of Cambridge, Irene (Michael Jr.) Pietro of Troy, Elizabeth Henley of Greenwich, Thomas (Barbara) Henley of E. Sandwich, MA, Carol (Alfred) Lyon of Cambridge, James (Rosanne) Henley of Clifton Park, Patricia (Harry) DeLuca of Greenwich, and John (Candice) Henley of Greenwich; and also many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched. A funeral service will be held at 10am Monday, June 21, 2010 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 80 Main St., Greenwich with Rev. Martin Fisher, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Greenwich. Friends may call from 4-7pm on Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials can be made in her memory to the charity of one’s choice.
