Obituary of Bradford Odell Jr.

Bradford I. Odell Jr., 83, a resident of Greenwich, NY, died Friday August 13, 2010 at his home after a 15 month battle with pancreatic cancer. Born November 13, 1926 in Mt. Kisco, NY, a son of Bradford I. and Cornelia (Hunt) Odell Sr., he grew up in Katonah, NY and graduated from Katonah High School. Mr. Odell was a served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and worked for the U. S. Post Office in Katonah for 38 years. He was a volunteer member of the Katonah Fire Department for 62 years. He retired and moved to Greenwich in 1984, and was a member of Greenwich Elks Lodge #2223 and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Dorothy Pinori. Surviving is his wife of 57 years, Elinor Ritchie Odell, whom he married April 18, 1953 at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Brewster, NY; three daughters; Jeanne Graves and her husband Michael of Greenwich, Susan Miller and her husband John of Galloway, NJ, and Martha Cornog and her husband Kenneth of Greenwich, one brother, Donald Odell and his wife Anne of Boise, Idaho; grandchildren, Michael and Heather Graves of Greenwich, Jason and Tara Graves of Wakefield, MA, Bradford Odell of Egg Harbor, NJ, Shannon and Dustin Miller of Galloway, NJ, Katelyn, Kenneth and Dylan Cornog of Greenwich; 1 great grandchild Avery Graves of Greenwich, and several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11AM Tuesday August 17, 2010 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Greenwich, with Father John Hopkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwich Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 5-7PM at Flynn Bros., Inc. Funeral Home, 80 Main St. Greenwich. The family suggests that memorials in his name be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, PO Box 183, Greenwich, Easton-Greenwich Rescue Squad, or Greenwich Fire Dept.
