Obituary of Harriet Bapp Kalme

Harriet Kalme, 76, passed on into the next life on Friday, February 24, 2017 after a long battle with Kidney disease. Harriet was born in Glens Falls, NY on December 24, 1940. Harriet learned work ethics at a young age to support family. She was a dairy farmers’ wife and owner of the Mini Mart in Schuylerville for years. Harriet was all about family, her and Ascold raised four wonderful kids and Harriet became “Mother” of all the neighborhood kids. She loved being close with her family, having dinners and playing cards. At those family dinners Harriet would share her love of gardening with all types of canned and pickled items. Harriet and Ascold loved the ability to travel to Estonia, Spain, Vermont, Iowa, Florida, and Indiana. Harriet was the most caring and loving soul. Harriet lived a full life and was loved by all those around her, if others were happy, Harriet was happy! Harriet is preceded in death by her Husband: Ascold Kalme (2007); Parents: Oscar and Marion Bapp; Brothers: Robert Bapp, Donald Bapp, Sister-in-law Peggy Bapp, Peter Bapp, and Brother-in-law Jack Creeden. Harriet is survived by her children: Neeme Kalme (Shawn Arberger) of Easton, his daughters Ashlee (great grand-daughter Cloee) of Queensbury, Chelsee of Corinth and Kaylee of Corinth; Anna Kalme and her daughters Sabrina and Natalia of Barcelona Spain; Harvey Kalme (Margina Chow) and their son Andrew of Mechanicville; and Neasa Kalme of Indiana, Sister Ruth Creeden of Florida; Brother Richard Bapp and his wife Sharon of Queensbury, and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 7pm on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 80 Main St, Greenwich, NY, 12834 with the Rev. Debbie Earthrowl officiating. Family and friends may call from 6-7 prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials in Harriet’s name may be made to the Easton Greenwich Rescue Squad, PO Box 84, Greenwich, NY 12834.
