Obituary of Edith C. Martis

~~Edith C. Martis, 100, a lifelong resident of Victory Mills, passed away Monday, August 7, 2017 at Saratoga Center in Ballston Spa.

Born December 18, 1916 in Schuylerville, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Clara Maynard LeClare.

Edith was a communicant of Notre Dame-Visitation Church in Schuylerville and a member of the Ladies of St. Anne Rosary Society.  She was also a member of the Old Saratoga Seniors and several card clubs.  She enjoyed reading, word search, traveling, and her animals.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John Martis; 2 sisters, Minnie Sherman and Adele Millett; and 1 brother, Eugene LeClare.

Survivors include her son, John (Debbie) Martis of Victory Mills; 1 niece, Helen Myers; 3 nephews, John Sherman, Moe Sherman, and Phil LeClare; as well as several great nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be held at 10am Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Notre Dame-Visitation Church with Rev. Martin Fisher, officiating.  Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5-7pm on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville.
