Obituary of Constance L. Jacobson

~~Constance L. Jacobson, 51, of Ballston Spa, NY, passed away with her family by her side on September 10, 2017 after a brave battle with breast cancer.

Connie was born on July 15, 1966 in Saratoga Springs, NY and is the loving wife of Glenn Jacobson. They were together for 28 years and are both graduates of Schuylerville Central School.

She is pre-deceased by her parents Sylvester and Anna Macica, and brother Joseph.

Survivors in addition to her husband include several siblings, including sisters, Julia (Michael) Barron, Margaret Hatin and Carolyn (Matthew) Wiederecht; and brothers, Thomas (June), Kenneth and Gerard (Kim) Macica. She also is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Gail and Robert, and mother-in-law Margaret ( late Richard Jacobson).

Connie will be most remembered for her passion for cooking, creating many beautiful meals and sharing her culinary skills with both friends and family. She especially enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews, often spending many hours playing and cooking with them.   She loved to read and garden and graced their home with elaborate perennial gardens and beautiful plantings. She was also a dedicated educator at Helping Hands School and currently, at Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake School, where she worked as a teacher assistant for special education children. She advocated for every child she encountered and enjoyed sharing stories and progress on “her kids”, who will miss Mrs. Jacobson dearly. She also loved animals which arose from her years working on the family dairy farm and most especially, her kitties, Linus and Angus. Her sense of humor and sharp wit fed a steady stream of hilarious texts, even finding humor during her most difficult times.

Friends may call on Friday, September 15, 2017 between 4 and 7 PM at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave. Ext., Schuylerville, NY.

A funeral mass to celebrate her life will be held at 10 am Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the Notre Dame-Visitation Church in Schuylerville, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Autism Society of the Greater Capital Region, www.albanyautism.org or to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation.
