Timothy Martin

Obituary of Timothy P. Martin

Timothy P. Martin, 59, best known as “Tim Martin” a lifelong resident of Greenwich (OFG) passed away unexpectedly of natural causes, Monday, January 1, 2018 at a family camp on Summit Lake.

He was born February 4, 1958 in Cambridge, NY to the late Gerard and Anne Arnold Martin.

Tim was best known for being a loving devoted husband, father, and one hell of a grandfather to his 3 grandchildren Adilynn, Finnegan and Nora.  He was probably the funniest man alive, whos great sense of humor shines through in the hundreds of stories and one liners throughout his life. His compassion for others and the countless lives of those he touched around him made him the humblest man there was.

He married the love of his life Catherine Foley Martin on August 29, 1981, and moved to Greenwich where they were happily married for 36 years.  They raised two amazing sons together Caine and Patrick.  He was a hardworking employee who took great pride in working for National Grid for 32 years.

Hobbies he enjoyed were hunting, fishing, and playing the eukulae as only Tim Martin could for his family and friends.  His best times were spent on Summit Lake driving around on Capt. Pa’s boat with his beloved grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by brother-in-law Timothy Healey.

Survivors include his loving wife Catherine Foley Martin; sons Caine (Heather) Martin and their children Adilynn and Nora, Patrick Martin and his child Finnegan; brothers Peter (Christine) Martin of CA, Dan (Cindy) Martin of NY; sister Margaret Healy of VA; mother and father-in-law Janet and Tom Foley of ME; brother-in-laws Mike, Sean and Matthew Foley; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 10am Friday, January 5, 2018 at St. Joseph’s church in Greenwich with the Rev. Martin Fisher officiating.

Family and friends may call from 4-7pm on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 80 Main St, Greenwich, NY, 12834.
