Obituary of Eleanor Casey

Eleanor L. Casey, 80, a longtime resident of Victory Mills, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at the Baptist Health and Rehabilitation Center in Scotia.

Born January 18, 1938 in Tupper Lake, NY she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Lillian Bertrand Boyer.

Mrs. Casey worked for Victory Specialty in Victory Mills for many years. She was the mother of six children, ten grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, games, puzzles, and old movies. She was an avid fan of Elvis Presley and the cartoon character "Betty Boop", whom she aspired to be like in real life. As a young mother, she was known to have started more than a few neighborhood kick-ball games; played in the middle of the road where the stakes were higher.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Donald Casey and an infant son, James Casey.

Survivors include her children, Donald M. Casey Jr. of Rotterdam, NY, Marcella Minor of Greenwich, NY, John Casey of NC, Eleanor Marble of Hudson, NY, and Cadmus M. Casey of MI; brother, John Boyer and sister, Roseanne Thivierge; 10 grandchildren, Jason and Ariel Dawn Casey of Myrtle Beach, SC, Amanda Garriss and Sean Casey of NC, Kira Casey of TN, Ashley Marble, Eric Goodling, David Marble, Arron Minor, and Corey Minor all of NY; 5 great grandchildren, Cameron Casey, Jocelyn Casey,and Aurora Pigliavento of Myrtle Beach, SC, Colton and Emma Garriss, of NC; several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave. Ext., Schuylerville with Rev. Martin Fisher, officiating.

Spring burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Schuylerville.

Friends may call on Saturday from 12-2pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorials can be made in her memory to the Wilton Rescue Squad or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
