Obituary of Burton F. Weils

Burton F. Weils, 74, a resident of Upper Sherman Ave., passed away Friday, February 9, 2018 at the Wesley Health Care Center in Saratoga Springs.

 

Born July 12, 1943 in Clarks Mills, NY he was the son of the late Albert B. and Evelyn Perkins Weils.

 

Mr. Weils was a graduate of Schuylerville High School Class of 1961.  He had been employed at United Board and Carton in Victory Mills and then retired after 30 years at Finch Pruyn in Glens Falls. He was a member of the Eagles Club in South Glens Falls, and was an avid bowler, golfer, hunter, fisherman, and pool player.

 

He married Hope Rustin in September of 1962 after “picking her up on a street corner” in Victory Mills.

 

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by 1 son, Timothy Weils; 1 daughter, Jennifer Lynn Weils; and 1 sister, Joyce Wood.

 

Survivors in addition to his wife of 55 years, Hope Weils of Queensbury include 4 sons, Burton F. (Lisa) Weils Jr. of DeRitter, LA, Todd D. Weils of Queensbury, Jeff (Nancy) Weils of Lake George, and Kevin Weils of Queensbury; 4 brothers, Albert (Janice) Weils, James (Susan) Weils,  Allen Weils, and Bruce (Kathy) Weils; 4 sisters, Jean (Burl) Cook, Susan (Jim) Perry, Ilene Bogue, and Barbara Scaglione; 15 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

 

A memorial service will be held at 12pm Friday, February 23, 2018 at Faith Chapel, 6 Burgoyne St., Schuylerville with Rev. Charles Huff, officiating. A luncheon will follow the service from 1-4pm at the American Legion, Clancy St., Schuylerville.

 

Memorials can be made in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Association.
