Obituary of Thomas William Morris Sr.

Thomas William Morris Sr., a resident of Mahaffy Rd, in Greenwich, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, April 30, 2023, at his home.

He was born June 11, 1949, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Thomas and Susan (Konorosky) Morris. 

Thomas was a smart man and avid reader, who enjoyed reading how to books, to further his knowledge and understanding.  He was well educated and received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from RPI and master’s degree from the University of Michigan.  He worked and retired from the NYS Department of Health where he worked as a programmer. 

Thomas was independent, self-sufficient, some would say a rebel.  Anything that needed to be done, he would perform the task himself, taking great pride while doing it.  He was a loving father and enjoyed spending time with his family back in Ohio.  He had a passion for cars and enjoyed the thrill of road rally racing, in his youth. 

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Dennis Morris.

He is survived by his son, Thomas (Jessica) William Morris Jr. of Malta; sister, Susan (Jerry) Holmer of Indiana; former wife and mother of his son, Arlene (Skip) Starr; nephews, Jeffrey (Samantha), and Daniel (Jenny) Holmer; great-nephew’s Aiden and Dylan. 

A private memorial service will be held for family and friends of Thomas.
