Obituary of Rita M. Booth

Rita M. Booth, 77, passed away Thursday, April 08, 2010 at her home in Easton, following a short battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family when she peacefully went to join her husband Richard in heaven. Richard passed away on January 18, 2010. Born September 4, 1932 in Fort Miller, NY she was the daughter of the late Earl and Lorena Yandow Sanders, Sr. After working for many years in several area post offices, she retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1995. Her greatest joy in life was in being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed taking care of her home and family. She was a wonderful cook who took pleasure in preparing special meals and desserts for every occasion. Rita will be greatly missed by all who loved her. The family finds comfort in knowing that Rita and Richard will once again be together. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband of 59 years, Richard N. Booth; her sister, Lena Weatherwax; and 3 brothers, Robert, Earl, and Joseph Sanders. Survivors include her daughter, Laurell Roberts and her husband Daniel of Gansevoort; her beloved grandchildren, Scott Roberts of Saratoga Springs and Logan Roberts of Philadelphia; 1 brother, James Sanders of Bald Mountain; 2 sisters, Elizabeth Humiston of Greenwich and Jane Sanders of Bald Mountain; and several nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. A funeral service will be held at 4pm Sunday, April 11, 2010 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville, with Rev. Bonnie Bates, officiating. Friends may call on Sunday from 2-4pm prior to the service. Interment for both Richard and Rita will be Monday at 12 noon in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Schuylerville.
