Aunt Maggie, Dan, David, William, Paul, Kelly, Frances, Louie, and families, Please accept our warmest thoughts and our love. Uncle Deane is irreplaceable, but all our lives are better for having known him. He was more than just a loving husband, father, brother, or to me, surrogate Uncle since my earliest memories. He lived a full and proud life, but was too humble to speak about his gifts and accomplishments, so I know him best as one of the finest yet tenderest and most generous attorneys I have yet known, a commodity in short supply in our shared profession. I will think of him every time I make someone smile, every time I have dessert, every time I try to help someone in need, every time I hear a joke, and, of course, every time I cause trouble. Jehan and I will love him always. Love, Bart, Jehan, and Aleena Patterson

We are saddened by the loss of Deane. He was a gentle, one of a kind special guy. He left his mark of kindness and generosity on all those he worked with, me being one of them. We were blessed by his big loving heart. My prayers go out to all of his family.

Dear Maggie and Family, The world has lost a kind and thoughtful friend who never forgot the people in his life, whether at work (always brought in cake and doughnuts and Tootsie Roll Pops for us "kids") or on a personal level (sent us candy and books and made time for dinners with us no matter how he was feeling). We shall miss him forever. Deane and you are precious people and the world should know that! We love you very, very much! Chris, Bruce, Anita and Tom
