Obituary of Charles A. Deyoe

Charles A. Deyoe, 73, a resident of Rugg Rd., passed away Monday, January 25, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. Born January 12, 1943 in Glens Falls, NY he was the son of the late Augustus and Marjorie Sweet Deyoe. Mr. Deyoe was a lifelong Schuylerville resident. He worked for New York State Department of Transportation for 29 years, and after his retirement he was employed part-time with the Town of Northumberland. He was an avid hunter and outdoor sportsman and had hiked the Himalayan Mountains. He enjoyed carpentry and gardening in his spare time. He was a member of the Hunting Club, "Camp of the Big Feet". In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by siblings, Gary Deyoe and Sheila Merchant. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Margaret Allen Deyoe of Bacon Hill; his children, Cindy Squadere of Rotterdam, Mark Deyoe of Schuylerville, Kenneth Deyoe (Tricia Harley) of Saratoga Springs, and Jeffrey Deyoe of Terre Haute, Indiana; 2 grandsons, Scott Squadere and Wyatt Charles Deyoe; 1 brother, William Deyoe of Quaker Springs; 1 sister, Peggy Greene of Wilton; and several nieces and nephews. At Charlie's request, there will be no formal services. Those wishing to pay respect to the family may visit them at the barn behind their house, 151 Rugg Rd., Schuylerville from 12-4pm on Saturday, January 30, 2016. Memorials can be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Lane, Latham, NY 12110 or Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
