Obituary of Robin F. McMurray

Robin F. McMurray, 55, a resident of Cambridge-Battenville Rd., passed away Sunday, December 4, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 5, 1961 in Cambridge NY, to the late William and June Guthier McMurray. Robin was married to the love of his life Holly McMurray for the past 26 years. He graduated from Greenwich Central school in 1979 where he was active in 4-H, showing cattle, the FFA and a member of the football team. After graduation, he went on to attend Cornell University where he played football. He returned to manage and co-own his family’s dairy farm Wheeping Birch Farm LLC. He was always hardworking and dedicated to the farm and his family. Robin was currently serving his second term on the Cambridge Town Council. Robin was a kind and gentle soul who positively influenced everyone around him, he always made sure everyone felt special in their own way. He was always a humble and caring soul who was especially proud of his son Liam. Robin saw the world not perfect and accepted it anyways. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brother William Gene McMurray and cousin Ricky McMurray Survivors include his loving wife of 26 years Holly McMurray; son Liam McMurray; brother Timothy (Micki) McMurray; sisters JoAmy Guild, Bonnie McMurray, Tina (Derek) Dearstyne; mother-in-law Marylou Gravlin; several nieces, nephews, cousins, close friends, and family. A memorial service will be held at 11am Saturday, December 10, 2016 at the Bottskill Baptist Church, 32 Church St, Greenwich, NY, 12834 with the Rev. Sandra Spaulding officiating. Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 pm on Friday, December 9, 2016 at the Bottskiill Baptist Church.
