Obituary of William G. McLaughlin

William G. McLaughlin, 77, a resident of Saratoga Springs and formerly of Victory Mills, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Saratoga Hospital after a long illness. Born March 12, 1933 in Stillwater, NY he was the son of the late George W. and Julia Fuller McLaughlin. Mr. McLaughlin enlisted in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and served for eight years. He was a forklift operator for Grand Union in Waterford for 20 years. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Michael McLaughlin and a sister, Sheila Fuller. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Ramona Rushlow McLaughlin of Saratoga Springs; daughters, Debra Fredrick of Oxnard, CA, Linda (Malcolm) Salls of Victory Mills, Karen (Albert) Lavigne of East Hartford, CT, Gail McLaughlin and her companion James Fish Jr. of Lake Luzerne, NY and Marianne Foote of Mechanicville; brothers, James, John, and Peter McLaughlin; sisters, Judith Giambona, Karen Smith, and Marianne Knipe; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. A committal service will be held at 2pm Friday, December 3, 2010 at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville with Rev. Martin Fisher, officiating. There will be no calling hours. The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Saratoga Hospital for their care and kindness.
