Obituary of Joseph J. Corsetti

Joseph J. Corsetti, 86, a resident of Pearl St., died Thursday, December 16, 2010 at his home. Born January 20, 1924 in Schuylerville, he was the son of the late Guy and Mary Neroni Corsetti Sr. He was a graduate of Schuylerville Central School and attended Albany Business College. He worked for NYSDOT for 39 years and owned Corsetti’s Wine and Liquor Store in Schuylerville for 22 years. He was past President of the Schuylerville Lions Club, was a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus, was a member of the Old Saratoga Seniors, and a communicant of Notre Dame-Visitation Church in Schuylerville. Joe loved sitting on his front porch. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and he was their biggest fan. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by 1 son Guy Corsetti; 4 brothers, Guy Jr., Anthony , Alfred, and Richard Corsetti; and 1 sister, Laura Sciurba. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Marilla Robinson Corsetti of Schuylerville; 2 sons, Joseph (Joyce) and Jerry (Wendy) Corsetti of Schuylerville; 1 daughter, Kate (George) Brenner of Burnt Hills; 2 sisters, Teresa M. and Elizabeth Corsetti of Schuylerville; 1 brother, James Corsetti of Newburgh, NY; 7 grandchildren, Shawn, Andrea, Allyn, Clae, Chuck, and Cyrus Corsetti, and Georgie Brenner; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 10am Monday, December 20, 2010 at Notre Dame-Visitation Church with Rev. Martin Fisher, officiating. Spring burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 1-4pm at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville.
