William Guy Roe Sr., 93, sometimes known as Bill, but more often known as Windy, passed away on January 24, 2011 at Pleasant Valley in Argyle, NY. Born November 17, 1917 in Watervliet, NY he was the son of the late George and Emily Roe. Bill was a WWII veteran serving as a Naval Aviator qualified for carrier landings. At his request he will be buried with a deck of cards while holding a winning hand. He also loved football, and his favorite team was the NY Giants despite their inventive ways of losing. Bill was a long time member of the Greenwich Elks and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Bill was predeceased in 2000 by his wife Cecilia, and his brothers Henry and Robert. Survivors include his three children, Bill Jr. of Queensbury NY, Linda of Greenwich, and David (Jo) of Greenwich; five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
