Obituary of Cecelia E. Jennings

Cecelia E. Jennings, 87, of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital. She was the daughter of Philemon and Marie Thivierge, born February 3, 1923 in Smithville, NY. After raising eight children, she worked for Hudson Pulp and Paper Mill in Thomson, NY. She enjoyed going to Bingo, playing 5oo Rummy and watching Saturday Evening Bull Riding. She will be remembered for her hugs, her sense of humor and being one of the Florida’s Golden Girls. She will be greatly missed by her sons, Jack (Mary), Jim (Peg) of Schuylerville, NY, Joe (Diane) of Greenwich, NY and Jeffrey (Donna) of Port Charlotte, FL; daughters, Joan (Lew) Wilkinson, Jayne (Ron) Parrish, Jerilyn (Sam) Summers and Judi (Jeff) Aber all of Port Charlotte, FL; 18 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; sisters, Janet Gleason and Gloria Getman; brother, Leo Thivierge and many nieces and nephews. Cecelia was predeceased by her husband, Francis Jennings; special friend Clifford Lewis; one brother and four sisters. Friends may call from 5-7pm on Friday, February 4, 2011 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville, NY. A funeral mass will be held at 10am Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Notre Dame-Visitation Church with Rev. Martin Fisher, officiating.
