Obituary of Veronica D Pierce

Veronica D. Pierce, 90, a former resident of Burgoyne St., Schuylerville, died Sunday, February 20, 2011 at Pleasant Valley Nursing Home in Argyle. Born August 3, 1920 in Brooklyn, NY she was the daughter of the late John and Eva Myers Loughnane. Mrs. Pierce was a long-time member of the Schuylerville Garden Club. She was a communicant of Notre Dame-Visitation Church and was a member of the St. Anne Rosary Society at the church. Vonnie loved to spend her winters in Florida walking the beaches and collecting shells. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband of 61 years, George Pierce, who died in 2006, and her 2 brothers, John and Robert Loughnane. Survivors include her 2 daughters, Joanne Kemp and Patricia Pierce, both of Schuylerville; 1 sister, Evelyn Picarelli of Port Jarvis, NY; 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10am Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Notre Dame-Visitation Church with Rev. Liam Condon, officiating. Spring burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Schuylerville. Friends may call from 6-8pm on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville.
