Obituary of Virginia D. Gilmore

Virginia Gilmore, longtime resident of Bacon Hill, NY passed away April 12, 2011. She was the daughter of the late William and Evelyn Deyoe, widow of Emmett J. Gilmore, and mother of the late Susan J. Heighton. She is survived by daughters, Sally A. Cahan and Martha J. Farber; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Ginny was a loving and supportive mother to her family and a mentor to many who worked beside her at the Schuylerville Central School, or were her students in eighth grade English during her long career there. Her kisses will be missed by her family and the dedicated staff at the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center who provided her with wonderful care the past three and a half years. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Bacon Hill Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Emmett J. Gilmore Memorial Award; c/o Mary Jennings, Schuylerville Central School, 14 Spring St., Schuylerville, NY 12871. Shiva will be held at the home of Martha Farber on Sunday evening, April 17, 2011.
