Obituary of William McMurray

William McMurray, 86, a resident of Old Cambridge Rd., died Monday, August 15, 2011 at the Glens Falls Hospital. He was born July 21, 1925 at Mary McClellan Hospital in Cambridge and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1941. Bill married June Guthier August 29, 1953 and together they established Weeping Birch Farm in Jackson. He was the Jackson Town Assessor for 40 years and a founding member of the Easton Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a member of the Cambridge Saddle Club and a member and past president of Washington County Farm Bureau. Bill was predeceased by his wife June and a son William. Survivors include his children, Timothy (Micki) McMurray and son Sean of Adams, MA, Robin (Holly) McMurray and son Liam of Greenwich, JoAmy Guild and her sons, Chance and Luke of East Greenwich, Bonnie McMurray of Greenwich, and Tina (Derek) Dearstyne and son Wiley of Greenwich. A funeral service will be held at 2pm Thursday, August 18, 2011 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 80 Main St., Greenwich with Rev. Sandra Spaulding officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwich Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 6-9pm at the funeral home. Memorials can be made in his memory to Easton Volunteer Fire Department.
