Obituary of Katherine H. Squires

Katherine H. Squires, 88, a resident of Burgoyne Rd., died unexpectedly Thursday, October 20, 2011 at her daughter’s home. Born January 13, 1923 in the Town of Saratoga, NY she was the daughter of the late Caswell A. and Mary E. Mezera Hamm. Mrs. Squires was a Registered Nurse and had worked at Samaritan Hospital in Troy, Saratoga Hospital, and also did private duty nursing. She was the School Nurse Teacher at Schuylerville Elementary School for 30 years, retiring in 1988. She was a member of Old Saratoga Reformed Church since 1934 and taught Sunday school for many years. She was a very active grandmother and will be missed dearly by her family. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Ralph S. Squires, and her brother and sister-in-law, John and Naomi Hamm. Survivors include her son Gary (Mary Lou Gaylord) Squires and daughter Pamela (Joseph) Driscoll of Schuylerville; sister, Joan (Roger) Sheely of Schenectady; sister-in-law Allene Cobart of Schuylerville; 4 grandchildren, Cydney Squires, Brian Driscoll, Madison and Cayden Squires; several cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends. A funeral service will be held at 2:30pm Monday, October 24, 2011 at Old Saratoga Reformed Church in Schuylerville. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 2-6pm at the home of Pamela and Joseph Driscoll, 125 Mezera Rd., Schuylerville.
