Obituary of Ralph R. Carr

Ralph R. Carr, 82, a resident of King Road in Bacon Hill, died unexpectedly Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Saratoga Hospital. Born February 20, 1929 in Saratoga Springs, NY he was the son of the late Earl D. and Gladys Dakota Carr. Mr. Carr was a lifelong dairy farmer in Bacon Hill. He also worked for the Saratoga County Highway Department for 23 years and the Saratoga Racetrack for 7 years. He was an avid gardener and had been a member of the Bacon Hill Grange. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by an infant brother Benjamin Carr, his brother James Earl Carr; and his sister Mary Elizabeth Weber. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Beverley Merchant Carr of Bacon Hill; his children, Edward J. (fiancé Colleen) Carr of Bacon Hill, Cynthia L. (Steven) Brock of Waddington, NY, Sally J. (William) Hanehan of Saratoga Springs, and Sandra E. (Bernard) Doescher of Wilton; brother, George (Mary) Carr of Saratoga Springs; 6 grandchildren, Jamie, Raymond, and Christopher Carr, Alex and Zach Brock, and Cassidy Doescher; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 1pm Saturday, October 29, 2011 in the Gansevoort Cemetery, with Rev. Janet Vincent, officiating. Friends may call on Friday from 6-8pm at Flynn Bros. Inc.
