Obituary of Ivan V. Sloan

Ivan V. Sloan, 73, passed away Tuesday December 6, 2011 at Saratoga Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born June 28, 1938 in Cambridge, NY, he was the son of James and Hazel (Richards) Sloan. Ivan retired from Kamyr Inc. in Glens Falls as a mill wright, and was a member of the Carpenters Union. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Linda Sloan, who died in 2009, his sisters Marjorie Bain and Eileen Snell and a brother Nelson Sloan. Surviving are his children; Randy (Susan) Sloan, Sandy (Stanley) Mattison, Michelle (Rob) Robbins, Joann (Brian) Haynes, Ruth (Kyle) Towne and Sam (Tiffany) Sloan all of Greenwich; 13 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, a brother James (Connie) Sloan III of Greenwich and several nieces and nephews, and his best friend, his dog “Smokey”. A funeral service will be conducted at 10am Friday December 9, 2011 at Flynn Bros., Inc., Funeral Home, 80 Main St. Greenwich with Rev. Clyde McCaskill officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwich Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7pm Thursday at the funeral home.
