Obituary of Robert L. Almy
Robert L. Almy, 71, a former resident of Victory Mills and Malta, NY, passed away January 17, 2012 surrounded by loving family and friends in the comfort of his sons home in Ballston Spa. Born January 28, 1940 in Schuylerville, he was the son of the late Earl and Kathryn Spinks Almy. Bob attended Schuylerville Central School and was a member of the Green Sabre Drum and Bugle Corp. He worked for over 30 years at General Electric, before retiring approximately 10 years ago. He enjoyed walking in his community and visiting with his neighbors. He was a catholic, and was also known to his family as âGrandpa Bobâ. He fought a very courageous battle with cancer for three years. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Charlotte White. Survivors include his son, Todd (Pamela) Almy of Ballston Spa; daughter, Tracie Almy of Glens Falls; brothers, Frederick Almy of Saratoga Springs and Richard (Judy) Almy of Greenwich; sisters, Eileen (Pete) Relyea of Victory Mills and Darlene Manney of Greenwich; grandchildren, Devon Hall, Amber Lee Hall, Dane Hall, Austyn Hall, Stephanie Rossley, and Travis Almy; his close friend and companion, Althea Burts; several nieces and nephews, and his cat Bear, Bear. A funeral service will be held at 11am Friday, January 20, 2012 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 4-7pm at the funeral home. The family would like to give a special Thank You to Dr. Mastrianni and his office staff, and the friends and neighbors that helped him through this courageous battle.
