Obituary of Edward Bellamy

Edward Bellamy, 93, a resident of Ballston Lake, died Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. Born June 29, 1918 in Saratoga Springs, NY he was raised by his grandparents Edward and Henrietta Bellamy on their farm in Wilton. Mr. Bellamy was a US Navy Veteran of WWII and had worked for many years at ALCO in Schenectady and Auburn, NY. He was a member of Home Lodge #398 F&AM in Schuylerville, Cyprus Shrine in Albany, Wilton Heritage Society and the ALCO Heritage Museum In addition to his parents and grandparents, he was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth Smith Bellamy; and 2 nephews Clarence and Richard Smith. Survivors include 2 daughters, Marjorie (Robert) Boettner of Schenectady and Lucy Thompson of Lakeland, FL; 1 son, Charles (Nancy) Bellamy of Ballston Lake, NY; 9 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren; and 1 nephew Grant Smith of Gansevoort. A funeral service will be held at 11am Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville. Spring burial will be in the Gansevoort Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday from 10am -11am prior to the service. Memorials can be made in his memory to the Schuylerville United Methodist Church, or Shriners Childrens Hospital, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104-2396.
