Obituary of Raymond Snell Jr.

Raymond P. Snell Jr., 90, a lifelong resident of Greenwich passed away Thursday February 2, 2012 at the Wesley Health Care Center in Saratoga Springs. Born in Greenwich December 12, 1921 he was the son of the late Raymond P. and Violet (Lyman) Snell Sr. Raymond served in World War II in the European Theater as a member of the Army Air Force, receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross and a Purple Heart as a navigator and gunner. He worked at General Electric in Waterford as a designer/draftsman until his retirement. In his retirement he enjoyed woodworking, spending time working around his home and also spending time with his family. Surviving are his children; Jonathan Snell, Melaney Sandbrook, Steven (Marla) Snell and David Snell. Also surviving are six grandchildren and one great grandchild. A service with military honors will be held at 2pm Tuesday February 7, 2012 at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville with Rev. Virginia Cornell officiating. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of Flynn Bros., Inc. Funeral Home, 80 Main St., Greenwich, NY.
